You are probably aware of the fact that all medical practices will soon have to make the transition to digital storage and management of medical data. The government will be offering substantial cash incentives in the near future to accelerate the process. This will be followed by increasing penalties for those who do not make the transition.

While most hospitals and many large clinics have Electronic Medical Records systems (EMRs) already in place, small to medium sized practices have until now, had no good alternatives for implementing EMR systems. Either a practice must appoint or employ staff to evaluate and purchase software or sign on for IT services with a larger hospital or other healthcare group in the area. Using either of these methods leaves the business of information technology to people and organizations that have little expertise or time to make the best decisions, implement them, and provide on-going maintenance.
